Ovako invests €6 million in modernizing Hällefors gloss stick factory

Swedish steelmaker Ovako has invested over €6 million to modernize its main bright bar facility in Hällefors. The modernization aims to improve production efficiency, increase quality, and secure the company’s long-term competitiveness.

In the summer of 2024, Ovako upgraded its operations with new cutting, chamfering, and milling equipment. This new machinery allows the steelmaker to handle all machining in-house, reducing unnecessary handling and transportation risks. The next phase of modernization includes a new peeling lathe set to be operational in 2026, which will expand the product range and further improve productivity and quality.
